Privacy Policy

At Norbel Credit Union, we are committed to providing excellent member service and outstanding financial opportunities while respecting and protecting the privacy of our members. To better serve you, we may collect and maintain certain information regarding, for example, your product and service preferences or dates of special occasions (e.g., birthdays). Under no circumstances do we sell or rent this information to other businesses, and we strictly protect and enforce the confidentiality of this information. We respect your privacy and seek to protect the trust you place in Norbel. Our Privacy Policy is explained in more detail below.

1. What information does Norbel collect from online member activity?

For individuals who visit www.norbel.org but do not perform any transactions, we collect and store IP ("Internet Protocol") addresses during the visit. No individualized information is collected, and the IP address is not traced to a particular individual. Similarly, we collect information, using that IP address, about the navigational or browsing activities of our visitors. Again, that information is not tied to any name or other personally identifying information but is used solely to provide generalized demographic data, such as what geographic areas our visitors are from and visitor browsing patterns. We cannot use that data to identify you. For those who perform transactions at www.norbel.org, in order to complete that transaction, we may routinely collect or retain information that includes your: (1) name, address, telephone number, social security number, annual income, current and past employers; (2) answers to questions on deposit and loan applications; and (3) deposit and loan balances, overdraft history and payment history. We may also collect information from consumer reporting agencies regarding credit and checking account histories. This information may be shared with others to the extent permitted by law and in accordance with our information sharing policies and practices.

We do not retain any individualized information as a result of our use of cookies, nor do we gather user specific information details from your computer Internet software other than what is needed to authenticate member access to our home banking products. Our site uses browser cookies only after you log into home banking, to keep track of your transaction status or menu positions.
